Yeah, you can dodge the thrown weapons. I've dodged a few, but it's difficult. The timing is faster than, say, dodging a floater's attack. I've survived a *couple* of thrown knife attacks, but they sure took me down. The vast majority of the time, I die. And yeah, it's freaking annoying!
